The white pelican is a very large fish eating bird that is a common sight on all the rivers lakes and ponds around where I live in south east Alberta, Canada. This photograph was taken by Flatlandersam as a small flock landed in front of me while I was fishing with my father on the South Saskatchewan River north east of Medicine Hat Alberta.
