James Gordaneer Art of Victoria Calendar カレンダー

Born in 1933, James Gordaneer grew up in Toronto, and became a well-loved member of Victoria's arts community from 1976 until his death in 2016. A noted Canadian abstract expressionist , and a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts, he painted the images in this calendar in the late 1980s, drawing his inspiration from the beautiful local landscape and community. His work and mentorship inspired countless other artists, so partial proceeds from this calendar will go to the James Gordaneer Legacy Award sponsored by the Victoria Visual Artists Legacy Society, which supports emerging artists in Victoria.
