The Spanish flag at the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) was the national naval ensign, featuring red-yellow-red horizontal stripes with the arms of Castile and León (castle and lions) in the center, a design used from 1785-1931, famously captured from the ship San Ildefonso, and now a key artifact at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England, bearing battle scars. It was famously draped over the crossing of St Paul's Cathedral during Lord Nelson's funeral in 1806.
