Lucky Rabbit Foot Poster: It is the left hind foot of the rabbit which is believed to be the luckiest but a great deal of folklore on how and where the foot is acquired add to this superstition. The foot was to be chopped off in a cemetery on a Friday under the light of a new moon or a full moon. The folklore being that witches were most active during a new moon or a full moon and could shapeshift into the form of a rabbit. Thus the foot you carried for good luck and protection was actually a bone from the shapeshifting witch. Now a days most lucky rabbit feet sold are made of faux fur so we don’t see many people wandering the cemetery at night with a bunny in their grasp. Definitely a lucky turn of events for the rabbit.
