Crystal River sits along Florida’s Nature Coast, where clear spring water spills into the Gulf and turns the whole place into a glowing, turquoise playground. Beyond the manatees, Crystal River has an easygoing Old Florida vibe — low-rise buildings, bait shops, sunset docks, and endless paddling routes through mangroves. Kayaking is huge here; you can drift through glassy water, spot mullet flashing below, and sometimes see dolphins farther out near the Gulf. It’s not flashy or resort-heavy — and that’s the charm.
