Saint Bakhita was stolen from her childhood home, enslaved and mistreated, passed on to others, finally ending up in freedom in Italy where she found Christ and purpose in all her suffering. She is best known for being able to forgive her captors, stating that without them, she never would have found the love of Christ. She is the patron saint of those who are trafficked.
