St. Dymphna was born in Ireland in the 7th century. She consecrated herself to virginity at a very young age. When she was young, her mother died, and her father went insane. He started having an attraction to his daughter because she resembled her mother. When Dymphna found out, she ran away, but her father found her and killed her.
