Print graphic depicting the personal crash helmet of the famous actor and racing driver. Steven Terrence "Steve" McQueen 1930 – 1980 McQueen was an avid motorcycle and race car enthusiast. When he had the opportunity to drive in a movie, he performed many of his own stunts, including some of the car chases in Bullitt and the motorcycle chase in The Great Escape. McQueen considered being a professional race car driver. In the 1970 12 Hours of Sebring race, Peter Revson and McQueen won with a Porsche 908/02 in the three-litre class. McQueen drove his most famous race for the 1971 film Le Mans, which shows a fictional Le Mans 24-hour car race directed by Lee H. Katzin. The "King of Cool" wore the blue Bell helmet shown in his role as the racing driver Michael Delaney.
