The Lovers tarot card ポスター

The Lovers card was the first card I completed for this deck. It was completed in May of 2015. A Death's Head Moth is officiating the wedding between the male and female centipedes below. The moth is significant because when love appears something else dies, sometimes a prior way of existing, sometimes something else. The centipedes are wearing their masks in a Jungian sense. Love is responsible at times for creation and so I placed mushrooms in the picture to give an example of parthenogenesis. The shape of the centipedes forms a grail with an amarita muscaria mushroom in it. This card is also about combining opposites so I have the sword(air) plunged into the earth. In addition to an outside combining of opposites the Lovers also can mean finding love for yourself within, which allows for creativity to flow more easily.
