This piece explores the private architecture of grief. Inside the tear exists a room. Quiet. Isolated. Familiar. A place where pain is not performed but lived. The figure seated within represents the self in pause, suspended in the moment when emotion has nowhere else to go. The tear becomes both container and shelter, holding what cannot yet be released. Layered imagery of the face, fractured reflections, and weighted stillness convey the way sorrow resides within the body. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just present. The work acknowledges the reality that healing does not always manifest as movement. Sometimes it looks like sitting with what hurts.
