Title：木曽の寝覚（kiso no nezame /きそ の ねざめ / Nezame on the Kiso River）from the Selection of Scenic Views of Japan. “Nezame no toko" is a scenic spot in Uematsu Town, Kiso County, Nagano Prefecture. It is a natural landform created by the erosion of granite by the flow of the Kiso River. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
