Title : 雪の向島 (Yuki no Mukōjima / ゆき の むこうじま / Snow at Mukōjima) Mukojima is the name of a place on the east bank of the Sumida River in Sumida-ku, Tokyo. Mukojima has been home to many ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurants), okiya (Japanese tea houses), and wagashi (Japanese sweets stores) since the Yedo period. Author :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) 川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957)) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
