Whispers from a Far Green Country - サンキューカード

Magnolias feature in a number of my artworks - holding great sentimental value for me. With this particular watercolour painting, I began with a warm, copper coloured background and decided to add green over the top. The combination of the two colours created a verdigris effect which sets off the blooms beautifully. The painting has an ethereal, heavenly feel to it so I named the work 'Whispers from a Far Green Country' - borrowing some language from JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
