93rd Infantry Division Collection
The 93rd Infantry Division of the United States Military was a segregated, all-colored infantry division. During WWI's Second Battle of the Marne, the division was commanded by France and earned the nickname "Blue Helmets" for their bravery. They were outfitted with Adrian helmets and shoulder patches in horizon blue. The division focused on construction and defense in WWII's Pacific Theater, reactivating at Fort Huachuca in 1942 and deploying to Guadalcanal in 1944. Although its units were deactivated in 1945 with 12 casualties, they continued to serve in the Illinois and Maryland Army National Guards. This design recognizes the courage and sacrifice of those who served.
