Cancer Gift Chocolate Candy for Cancer Patients

According to Karen Harris, MSN, RN, in the article, Chocolate: To Eat or Not to Eat?, “Research have shown that some types of chocolates may actually be beneficial to your health. Chocolate contains a phytochemical compound called flavonoids found in cocoa beans. A flavonoids is an antioxidant that can prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals thereby potentially assisting in the prevention of cancer.” The inspirational design for these Hershey’s candies is based on the characters, Charlie and Caleb in the best-selling book, Caleb The Cancer-Fighting Bear Coloring and Activity Book. In the book, Charlie, newly diagnosed with cancer is inspired to become a survivor when he meets Caleb, a musical therapeutic bear.
