Carl Holsøe

(1863 – 1935) was a Danish artist who, like his friend Vilhelm Hammershøi, primarily painted domestic interior scenes. A difference may be that Carl Holsøe gravitated more towards the beautiful and harmonious, with high-ceilinged rooms with mahogany furniture, while Hammershøi was more emotional, more of an Expressionist.
