Carl Holsoe, Mother and child in a dining room

Designs inspired by an interior painting by Danish artist Carl Holsøe (Mother and child in a dining room interior, 1935). The painting shows a young mother sitting by a white clothed dining room table with her baby in her arms. As in many other of Holsøe's paintings, the depicted people are partly turned away, leaving their identity to the imagination of the viewer. The wall behind the table is an important part of the picture, it is full of framed paintings and other juxtaposed objects that seem to add a story to the mother and her child.
