It borders on Poland, Germany, Austria and Slovakia. Since the 10th century, Prague is the capital of the Czech state, the political, economic, cultural center of the country and a tourist attraction in Europe. The population of the city is about 1.3 million people, the fourteenth largest city in the European Union. Within the city there is the Vltava River. Karlstejn, Cesky Krumlov and Kutna-Hora are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
