Jubilate Deo

Over the last decade or so, I have created a number of artworks featuring various aspects of the Werribee River - capturing it in watercolours, pen and ink and chalk pastels. More recently, I decided to capture the river in oils - using a very large canvas (measuring 120 x 90 cm). It took several months of work, on and off, to complete the artwork. The scene depicts the area known as 'The Cliffs' at Werribee South where the Werribee River winds it way out to sea. The title 'Jubilate Deo' comes from the latin for 'make a joyful noise unto the Lord' as found in Psalm 100. I felt it was an appropriate title for such a celebratory, joyful and colourful artwork.
