JWST James Webb Space Telescope Saturn Infrared

A haunting view of the planet Saturn as imaged by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope in the near-infrared part of the spectrum. The planet is darkened because its methane gas atmosphere absorbs infrared sunlight. The rings are bright because they are more reflective.
