Mother's Garden

I have to thank Ma for cultivating my love of the plant world, back in the days of the neighborhood garden and hardware store where we spent many of our days and some of the grocery budget picking out flower seeds for my childhood flower garden. My scraggly zinnias and under size marigolds, though I was too young to understand I was in an impossible climate and soil for annuals, propelled me into a lifetime quest. That is the story of how I became a botanist, a garden designer, and now a gardener of long lasting plant-y things we can keep around us, regardless of our soil type. So here are just pretty things for mothers everywhere, and a few particular designs I made with my Ma in mind.
