The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is California’s iconic rotating tram ride that takes you from the desert floor in Palm Springs straight to the 8516 foot summit of Mount San Jacinto in just 10 minutes. It is the world’s largest rotating aerial tram system, climbing over 5800 vertical feet along the steepest tram route in North America. The cars spin slowly for full panoramic views of Chino Canyon, the Coachella Valley, and the dramatic cliffs below. Mountain Station top: Inside Mount San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness The experience: Board at the Valley Station and enjoy a dramatic ascent through pristine wilderness from scorching desert to cool alpine forest in minutes. At the top you step out into observation decks with sweeping vistas, two restaurants, a cocktail lounge, gift shop, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, and the State Park Visitor Center. There are also over 50 miles of hiking trails right from the station.
