Textural Treasures

This design collection is based on the textural treasures found in nature in late summer and winter, in the Northeast of U.S.A. Normally I make a painting of a species and then create a design collection based on it. But there was so much beautiful diversity and complexity to capture, that I decided to do it in a novel way. They were artistically arranged first and then their digital images were made with a camera. Finally these were thoughtfully formatted by hand on products that would enrich the world of interior design and bring the novelty of this natural beauty indoors. Some were also applied on mugs as this is a popular item. There are three designs set in late summer and three set in winter. Now a word about background colors. For the textural treasures of winter, I have brought forth a mature, winter aesthetic, by choosing colors that I have never used in the past. It is very refreshing to use a new color palette.
