Vincent Willem van Gogh Was a Dutch post-impressionist painter. Considered one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art, he created more than two thousand works over the course of just over a decade, including 860 oil paintings, most of which were completed in the last two years of his life. His works include landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and self-portraits, characterized by dramatic and vibrant colors, as well as impulsive and expressive brushstrokes, which contributed to the foundations of modern art and brought distinction to the painter's style.
