Voting Rights Freedom To Vote Act

The Freedom to Vote Act is the successor to the For the People Act and may be considered a “compromise” bill on voting rights. Both bills were designed to expand the rights of American voters to access the ballot box. This one requires every state to have automatic voter registration. Election Day would be a federal holiday. Each eligible citizen will be able to request a mail ballot and drop it off in a secure drop box. This is a far reaching Senate initiated bill for voter rights that bans partisan gerrymandering and offers multiple options for voter ID and same day registration, among other measures.
