Water lilies are flowering plants that live in water in temperate and tropical climates around the world. They are one of the world's most beautiful and recognizable plants. Most water lilies are tropical but some of the hardy kinds are native to the United States. Among the family of plants are water lilies, lotuses and pond lilies. There are both day blooming and night blooming water lilies.
