The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucus) is the State Butterfly of Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and the State Insect of Virginia, It is native to eastern North America, ranging north to southern Ontario, Canada. Here the butterfly is enjoying a species of Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum), a native plant in the Mint family that is beautiful in itself, but stunning when covered in all types of pollinators, from Bees to Butterflies and Moths.
