This version leaves the background as is with all the imperfections of the antique paper. We are also selling an alternate version with a white background. This engraving by Seligmann was based on the original plates from Mark Catesby's "Natural History of Carolina, Florida and Islands." This was the first published account of the wildlife of North America --before the American revolution --as documented by the pioneering British natural historian Mark Catesby.
