The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is a dazzling native species found throughout Florida, known for its large size and vibrant yellow and black markings. These graceful butterflies are a common sight in gardens, parks, and natural habitats, where they play a vital role as pollinators. Their beauty and ecological importance make them a beloved symbol of Florida's diverse and thriving wildlife. Although they can be found throughout Florida which is my home state, this beautiful shot of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly was taken on a hike around Abbott Lake in Virginia while I traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway.
