I love using metaphors in my writing. The umbrella-rain metaphor in this piece represents the sheer freedom of breaking free of whatever might hold us back, including pressure to conform to social norms (umbrellas) that we may not agree with, from living our personal truths. It represents the freedom of releasing ourselves from whatever may encumber us from living life to the fullest.
