Japanese Vegetable Ukiyo-e Art カレンダー

Celebrate the quiet beauty of the Japanese seasons, one vegetable at a time. In Japan, eating vegetables at their peak season — called "shun" — is a cherished tradition. This wall calendar honors that spirit with 12 illustrations in the style of traditional Japanese woodblock prints: delicate sumi ink lines, flat colors, soft gradations, and calm natural tones on a warm ecru paper base. Each page is a peaceful composition with plenty of breathing room, perfect for the kitchen or dining room. What's inside: January – Napa cabbage with frost and red nandina berries February – A bundle of nanohana rapeseed blossoms March – Tender spring cabbage with a white butterfly April – Bamboo shoots emerging from the earth May – Fava beans in a woven bamboo tray June – Cucumbers on the vine in the rainy season July – Glossy Japanese eggplants with violet flowers August – Kabocha squash with a red dragonfly September – Shiitake mushrooms on an oak log under the moon October – Freshly harvested carrots with maple leaves November – Japanese leeks (negi) bundled with rice straw December – White turnips in softly falling snow What makes it special: • No year appears in the artwork, so you can start your calendar from any month you like. • Designed in Japan. Each image was illustrated with AI, then hand-selected month by month for how well it captures the feeling of the season. • Front cover: a bamboo basket of seasonal vegetables. Back cover: all twelve vegetables in a traditional scattered pattern. A lovely gift for home cooks, gardeners, and anyone who loves Japanese food and art.
