Middle Falls (Ska-ga-dee) card サンキューカード
Letchworth State Park in Western New York is known as the Grand Canyon of the East, following the course of the Genesee River as it flows through a deep gorge and over several large waterfalls. The park is named for industrialist William Pryor Letchworth (1823-1910) who bequeathed his 1,000sq acre estate to the state of New York. The Seneca people called the land around these falls Sehgahunda, the "Vale of the Three Falls". The Middle Falls (Ska-ga-dee), in this photo, was believed to be so wonderous it made the sun stop at midday. Letchworth called his house, over-looking the Middle Falls, Glen Iris; Iris is the goddess of the rainbow, and of Hope.
Send this card to the geology buff or nature lover in your life, or to someone who needs some Hope.
