Shattered Light: Inspired Abstract ラップトップスリーブ

This artwork was created by our daughter at the age of 11, inspired by the magnificent stained glass ceiling at the National Gallery of Victoria. Looking up at the kaleidoscope of light and color, she wanted to capture the way fragments of glass can break apart yet still form a whole that is luminous and alive. Her piece reimagines that experience — bold shards of color outlined in strong black lines, filled with patterns, textures, and contrasts. Each section carries its own identity, but together they create harmony, much like the NGV roof itself. For her, this was not just an exercise in art but also an exploration of how inspiration can come from looking at the world differently. What makes this piece so special is that it marked one of her earliest forays into abstract expression, where she moved away from literal representation and embraced imagination. At 11 years old, she translated the feeling of awe into her own creative language, showing courage and originality that continues to inspire her journey as an artist.
