The Bahamas like all vacation/tourist locations of the world is also being "infiltrated" for lack of a better term, with people from all over the world. And like every country in our world, their is a spark of patriotism in the heart of the natives. A sense of "OUR" for example : Our Bahamian language, food, music, dance, our culture. Around the world cultures are clashing and fading out by outlanders who migrates into a country without the love, passion, nor the experience of growing up and being attached to the history. Slowly the holidays will not be celebrated, then the clothing will be forgotten, the Pledges not spoken, the old stories not told, the features of the natives blend with those of other lands. All this tells me that the universe is not Billions of years old. Here on Bahama Kirk I want to express old school Bahamas. In my art and style. A cool, relaxing place to vacay and holiday, from socka to calypso, from patata' bred to peas n' rice, from bush music to Junkanoo, The Culture of the Bahamas is what I am all about.
