Bring Nastya Home

Three months ago we saw a picture of a youth from the Ukraine who needed a home for the holidays. We rose to the situation. We learned that all of her 16 years have been spent in orphan care and without the embrace of loving family or warm home. We learned of her tenderness, of her compassion. In her time with us we watched our boys (13, 11, 9) rise to the occasion and grow in compassion and understanding. Statistics say that when an orphan in the Ukraine ages out at 16 there is a 60% chance of being trafficked for prostitution, pornography and organs. On top of this there is a 15% chance they commit suicide within 2 years. We have chosen to adopt Nastya. We have chosen to live with fierce hope and radical love and we need your help in order to bring her home. Not only do we need to raise funds for a home study, transportation, legal expenses, her medical examination there, social workers, placement services, translator... we need to also raise money to provide her with her own space within our home.
