Photography has been an avid passion for me for some time now and blending my love for aviation with it seems only natural. From sitting along side an airport or Air Force Base to attending air shows to visiting aviation museums, I am usually doing something related to aviation. My favorite area of the United States is Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas offers something extremely rare in regards to aviation. Not only does it have a top 10 commercial airport, McCarran International, but it is also home to the busiest United States Air Force Base, Nellis Air Force Base which is also home to The United States Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team. A short 45 minute drive north will get you to Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs, Nevada which is home to the Predator and recently uncovered, "Beast of Afghanistan" drones as well as being the practice airfield for The Thunderbirds. Also within a short day trip are Edwards Air Force Base, Fort Irwin Army Base, Tonopah Test Range, and the infamous "Area 51" or Groom Lake Test Facility. Ranking right next to aviation photography is landscape photography. The Southwestern area of the United States grabs my attention and makes it a hard choice where to go. The Mojave Desert holds many stunning views and images, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park and Death Valley all are within a short drive from Las Vegas. And who could over look the Las Vegas Strip? So many locations, so little time to visit!
