Hearts of Gold supports the Wairaka community school in Uganda in several key ways. First, every child is provided a meal daily, which may be that child's only meal of the day. Second, children who have financial need are provided tuition to enable their school attendance at a cost of $40 per term, where a full year is 3 terms. When you donate to sponsor a child, your money allows us to offer them a school uniform, breakfast/lunch, books and pens, shoes, and a school bag. Third, Hearts of Gold provides improved facilities for the children. A new nursing and primary school was built in 2021. However older students are still housed in buildings which don't protect from rain. To correct this, three new classroom buildings are planned at a cost of $10k each. This is the biggest current need. Everything in the store is priced to provide for a $40 donation to Hearts of Gold which will support one student for one term.
