I just recently found my love for art again. My desire to draw changes over time, just like my other interests. I tend to collect skills and then use them again. Drawing has always been something I do. But I often have trouble deciding what to draw and doubt my skill at doing it. After surgery, I couldn't use my right arm, so I started drawing with my left hand. This made me fall in love with drawing all over again. When I got my right hand back, I had the same problem: what to draw, and could I do it well? I tried something new by prepping the paper and letting my mind picture the picture as it came together. Sometimes I thought the picture was coming from the paper, and other times I thought it was coming from the pencil. In fact, this method helped me use a creative part of my mind that I don't use very often. I discovered that drawing in this way helped my ADHD symptoms and let me concentrate for long amounts of time. Drawing with awareness became like meditation for me, so I did it every day. It taught me a lot when I learned that drawing could help me deal with my ADHD. I found a way to help control my ADHD symptoms by accident; it was something I had been thinking about all along. As I showed my drawings to other people, they told me I should sell them. So here I am! I am selling my pictures. I hope they make you feel something too!
