Once upon a time, I was a fly tyer. Beginning in 1998, I sold dozens of fishing flies on eBay. In 2000, I registered the pun-driven store name, Lords of the Fly, with the state of Washington. But gradually, after thousands of labor intensive fly tying hours, arthritis ravaged my neck and lower back. So I changed my inventory to books (mostly Christian), puzzles, games, and a plethora of miscellaneous collectibles. Too cheap and lazy to pay for another registered store name, and after hours of deliberation, I decided that the post-Baby Boomer generations had come to view the word, FLY, as an adjective (rather than a noun or verb)--something akin to chic, cool, especially attractive...and so I decided that Lords of the Fly would suit my new inventory just fine! So I applied it to three different online marketplaces. Consequently, Lords of the Fly got hitched to eBay, Etsy, and Amazon. Recently, Lords of the Fly acquired a new online entrepreneurial wife with the catchy name of Zazzle! And, so...here we are! At 70 years of age, my goal is to be a genuine old fart millionaire.
