Alder & Cedarwood

Alder and Cedarwood began not in one place, but in the space between two imaginations. What started as an exchange of sketches, ideas, and daydreams between myself and my partner, slowly unfolded into something larger than either of us expected: a devotion to the fragile beauty of birds, and the stories they carry on their wings. Though distance lies between us, our collaboration has always felt like a meeting ground — a perch where art and inspiration take flight together. Antigonie brings an eye for fine detail, attentive to every feather and shadow, while I lean toward the poetic and the atmospheric, forever seeking the myth in a bird’s song or the hush of its wings. Alder and Cedarwood was born from this union of perspectives — a place where illustration and imagination meet. Each piece we create is more than a portrait; it is an echo of the wilderness, a fragment of a story retold in watercolor and line. We wanted to honor the tradition of vintage ornithology while breathing into it something new: a rekindled sense of wonder. Today, our shop is a small aviary of art — from delicate watercolors of swallows in mid-flight to the solemn grace of herons at still water. Alder and Cedarwood exists as proof that distance cannot quiet inspiration, nor keep wings from finding sky.
