I'm just a woman who has numerous rare diseases but has kept on moving. I hit the genetic mutation jackpot. I've been diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), BRCA2+ family gene mutation, Polycythemia Vera (PV) with JAK2 mutation (V617F), and have a host of other medical conditions/ side effects caused by them. I want to bring awareness to these rare diseases, but also to those everyday issues that are facing people with any kind of medical problem. I was told by my Mom growing up that I was her medical problem (little did she know that would prove true later on in my life!). I've also been told by numerous doctors that not only am I a medical miracle who honestly shouldn't be alive after all I've been through, but I'm also a medical mutant. I wear that title proudly! I'm also a published author who wrote about my experiences in the first 3 years after I was diagnosed in 2008. That book is called "The Burgundy Journey: Using Hope, Humor & Faith To Conquer Adversity. No Matter What". My second book is still a work in progress and when done will cover everything that has happened post 2011 through today. That one is a real page turner! The awareness ribbons are loaded and I left them blank specifically so you could customize them to fit your need. Every person with a disease is different, just like every disease affects a person differently. The one thing I do ask is that you refrain from using profanity or inappropriate language/images on my products. They are intended to help those living with said disease continue to fight and overcome a trying time. I tried to get each color accurately matched with their respective diseases, but sometimes one may pop up in the wrong spot. If that happens, please feel free to let me know and I'll try to fix it. Occasionally I may throw you a curveball (just like life!) and add something different to the store just for fun.
