Mellow Out

I recall that time during orchestra rehearsal hearing, for the first time ever, this warmly toned French Horn looking instrument. It was just a few seats away from me. I already loved the French Horn for its warm & rounded sound & when I heard this instrument, I just melted. I asked the lady who played it what it was called. She told me it was a Mellophone, but it was also called an Eb Horn. She began to tell me some of its history & why it was shaped the way it was. I have wanted to learn to play the Mellophone ever since. I know eventually that day will come. Anyone who has had the opportunity to hear this lovely brasswind in person will tell you it is unlike any other. It is a common sight around the holidays & is typically associated with the arcane. I wish to celebrate the Mellophone's unique place in classical music by offering this line of items. Cheers.
