In December of 2024, I suffered a near fatal attack from a pulmonary embolism (PE) from a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I was told I was lucky to be alive. My mission and my goal is to raise as much awareness as possible about blood clots. The following research and statements were pulled and paraphrased from the National Blood Clot Alliance at www.stoptheclot.org: Tragically, too many lives are affected by blood clots, and too many lives are lost because public awareness about life-threatening blood clots is so low. Study after study has shown that fewer than 1 in 4 people have any recognition of blood clots or their signs and symptoms. In the United States alone there are on average 900,000 cases per year and 100,000 to 300,000 of those diagnosed will die, which is greater than the total number of people who lose their lives each year to AIDS, breast cancer, and motor vehicle crashes combined. On average, 274 people will die every day from blood clots, that's 1 person every 6 minutes. It's important to know that blood clots can be prevented and to understand the risks, signs, and symptoms. This merchandise is not just for blood clot awareness and survivors, but rather a movement that symbolizes hope, redemption, and peace. Hope for future prevention and successful medical treatment. Redemption for the courage to face your own shadows without returning to the past. Peace for the hearts and minds and souls of those who are presently grieving. The tagline for this brand is "Not All Wounds Are Visible" because we cannot obviously see the trauma each person is facing internally, but together, with the power of community, I believe we can help save lives and influence more positive change.
