Animal Care and Control of New York City

Animal Care is the largest pet rescue and adoption agency in the North East, with over 43,000 animals rescued each year. As a not-for-profit organization since 1995, Animal Care is under contract with the City of New York to manage its animal control program. AC&C rescues, cares for, and finds loving homes for homeless, injured, neglected, abused and abandoned animals in New York City. We operate facilities and field rescue operations in all five boroughs. It is the only animal rescue organization in the City that is required by law to take in all homeless pets. This means our doors are always open to over 120 animals each day that have no where else to turn or who may otherwise be on the street. We take them in, vaccinate, medically evaluate, house, and feed them until we can reunite them with their owners or try to find them a good home.
