My name is Eva Ryan and I cut paper! I am a self taught artist living in the deep, cultural land of South Texas. I originally picked up my art form while working in the field of domestic and sexual violence prevention. As with all helping jobs, it was a requirement that I took care of my mind, body, and spirit everyday to keep me going. Paper cutting really was a savior of sorts as I learned how to take care of myself so I could take care of others. I advocate for art as a great form of self care, especially something as intricate and detailed as paper cutting. It draws you in and asks you to be fully present in the moment as each cut is made. I hope that my art would create community, creativity, and transformation in the lives of those that come into contact with it. Thanks for being here and choosing to go on this caper with me!
