This is not the same as thyroid issues. Your parathyroid glands control the calcium in your body and when something is wrong with them it can impact your entire body. I went undiagnosed with Hyperparathyroidism for years, and it caused a lot of pain and suffering. I was finally cured after 2 surgeries but since all of my glands were removed (except a small piece that had to be transplanted back in) I am now dealing with Hypoparathyroidism and will be managing it for the rest of my life as there is no cure at this time. I want to bring awareness to both conditions. Many people are undiagnosed for years or misdiagnosed, many are written off as having fibromyalgia but if their doctor knew to check for this they could be cured!!
