Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai (JKR)

Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai (JKR) dojos teach a form of traditional karate called Shindo Jinen Ryu, which has roots that reach back to the 16th century traditions of Takenouchi Ryu Jujitsu. JKR was founded by Sensei Yasuhiro Konishi, and Shindo Jinen Ryu is not only one of the original Japanese styles of karate, but one of the very first to be recognized officially. Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai was established by Yasuhiro Konishi, and developed by his son, Yasuhiro (Takehiro) Konishi, 10th Dan. JKR branches are located all over the world and are currently under the leadership of Kaicho Kiyoshi Yamazaki, 9th dan, who serves as President, International Director and Chief Instructor.
