Sandra Shelton is a unique watercolorist who enjoys creating a vibrant, lush environment that shows the tremendous power and seductive beauty of nature. The intensity of color and three-dimensional quality of the piece draws the viewer past the point of evident reality allowing them to sense their own emotions. She believes that “Creativity is stepping out the realm of reaction and becoming cause”. Sandra enjoys painting in series which allows her to explore a wider range of the subject matter. Her first “Tropical” series, a collection of 17 large scale paintings, was a sold out exhibition. Each time an original is purchased, a section of rain forest is “adopted” through a program to prevent slash and burn. Sandra has also been a teacher, lecturer and juror.
