We are the Schmidt Family who descends from Hans Schmidt (1594-1680), the shepherd of Nentershausen, Germany. Hans's descendants populated the German villages of Nentershausen, Blankenbach, and Machtlos. Many of his descendants immigrated to America, settling from Portland, Oregon to West Bend & Dysart, Iowa to Houston, Texas, to Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to Washington, DC. We have begun having reunions for all the branches of our family every few years, and decided we needed some Schmidt Family merchandise to proudly wear and display.
