Scott Nychay

Scott Nychay is an editorial cartoonist who has been described as "among the best," in America. He has won over 20 honors including first in the nation from the Associated Press Sports Editors for his graphic work. But awards and accolades are only the beginning to this artist’s unlikely story. Scott was born with art in his blood. He inherited it from his father, William, who was a gifted painter. Tragically, William became homeless and died on the streets. Nychay channeled this pain into his art by launching, ‘Drawing Support.’ With just two cartoons, he raised $50,000 to aid homeless victims of Hurricane Katrina and the South Asia tsunami. Today, the cartoonist is partnering with Zazzle to design an exclusive collection for fans of political satire.“I want to hit that spot between the head and heart,” Nychay says about his new line of apparel and is excited about the possibilities. "I am thrilled to be associated with Zazzle which is at the forefront of on-demand retail." And with only 80 editorial cartoonists left in the nation's newsrooms, he calls this ground-breaking industry, “the next frontier for visual artists who want to comment on the issues of the day.” In addition to the apparel, Scott is writing a memoir about working over a drawing table and reflecting on his father's life.
